It’s here! Prime Day started yesterday and runs through the 11th. I did a big shop yesterday and wanted to share what wound up in my cart in case you wanted some inspo. For the last few years I’ve used the same strategy: only buy items I’d purchase anyway and leverage other stores’ competing deal days (helloooo $3 beach towels at Target!).

Some may say my purchases are boring (GASP!), but I say they’re practical and forward thinking.
- Replenish/restock auto-buys
- Batteries: I bought a sweater shaver and some toys recently died – all requiring AA batteries. I was happy to simply not use those things for a few weeks while I waited for the sale.
- Face wash: Might as well purchase while it’s a couple dollars off
- Vitamin water zero: I won’t need a new case for a week or two…but then I’ll totally need it. Why wouldn’t I just get it now for three dollars less?! I know that’s not a ton of money, but it’s still silly to spend any amount more when you don’t actually have to.
- Undies (sadly, this is something we have to replenish because Finn hasn’t quite figured out the poop situation)
- Pouches: Finn loves applesauce pouches and I love a discount on applesauce pouches.
- Fashion/Beauty
- Shoes for Finn (Natives and Adidas were both 15%+ off)
- Exercise dress: I bought a unitard for vacation last year and found it to be surprisingly easy and useful. It’s nice to just throw on a whole outfit. Add a hat, maybe an open button down, and some cute tennis shoes and you’re all set. This time I expanded to the dress version when Prime Day meant they were all under $30.
- Tarte maracuja juicy lip plump: great gloss with nice shine and a good tint. $15 price point (good for any lip color nowadays) meant it was a yes.
- Game day sweater for Finn: $15 and so cute
- Umbrella: I couldn’t resist getting a Notre Dame one for my beau
- Baby Monitor: ours is running out of steam and I found one for 40% off with great range.
- Kids Bluetooth headphones: Finn has wired headphones for airplane TVs, but my iPad is Bluetooth only so I needed to get him something that would allow him to watch a movie while traveling if he doesn’t like the airline’s selection or if the plane TVs are broken (which has happened more than once).
- Toys (most of which I’m getting now and saving til December when we’re smacked with Finn’s birthday, Chanukah, AND Christmas all at the same time.)
- Tonie: Finn loves his Tonie box (getting one with 4 tonies for under $90 on prime day last year may be my best score ever) so I got him a new tonie figurine for $5 off.
- Candy Land: under $10
- Figurines/Action Sets:
- Spidey and His Amazing Friends
- Teenage Murant Ninja Turtles
- Travel toys (i.e., compact, no-mess activities that easily fit in a bag and occupy my kid on a plane or in a restaurant)
- Water Wow (water painting)
- Sticker Wow
- Magnetic jigsaw
- “Fun to Find”
